At seven, Pat Romain decided she wanted to become a nursing manager. By 25, she had achieved it.

But that was only the beginning.

She became a nurse teacher, moved into the world of computing, became self-employed, studied psychology and achieved a BA — while continuing to take on new challenges whenever life changed direction.

Eventually, Pat realised that even the people closest to her didn’t know the whole story.

So she decided to tell it.

The first meeting of the Les Senior Leucois

When we first arrived in Leuc we asked at the town hall if there was a retirement club in the village. The answer was “No but if you’d like to create one, we’d be very happy”. So with the help of the deputy mayor we created an Association which we decided to call Les Seniors Leucois. This video shows my first attempt at speaking French to a group, introducing the club to interested residents and explaining how as president I proposed to run it.
