At seven, Pat Romain decided she wanted to become a nursing manager. By 25, she had achieved it.

But that was only the beginning.

She became a nurse teacher, moved into the world of computing, became self-employed, studied psychology and achieved a BA — while continuing to take on new challenges whenever life changed direction. 

Eventually, Pat realised that even the people closest to her didn’t know the whole story.
